Billionaire Democratic donor to spend millions helping to elect officials that will work to remove Donald Trump from office. Now there's a worthy cause.

Courtesy of Newsweek:

A billionaire Democratic donor is putting some of his vast wealth toward a campaign to impeach President Donald Trump by petitioning elected officials across the country to take a stand on removing him from the White House. Tom Steyer, a former hedge fund manager who has poured millions of dollars into Democratic candidates and causes, launched a television ad campaign this week together with a website titled "Need to Impeach" in which people can sign up to petition lawmakers.

“Whether by the nature of Mr. Trump’s relationship with Vladimir Putin and Russia, his willingness to exploit the office of the Presidency for his personal gain and treat the government like a family enterprise, his conduct during Charlottesville, his decision to pull out of the Paris climate accords, or his seeming determination to take the nation to war, he has violated the Constitution, the office of the Presidency, and the trust of the public,” Steyer said in an open letter on the website. “He is a clear and present danger to the United States of America.”

In the ad, Steyer again rolls off what he sees as the list of the president’s deep failings, including bringing the country “to the brink of nuclear war.” He then asks: “If that isn't the case for impeaching and removing a dangerous president, then what has our government become?”

\Well there's a good question for ya.

I think we can all agree that this country, hell even this planet, will never be safe as long as Donald Trump has access to the nuclear codes.

Getting him removed from office should be the goal of every patriotic American.

I would hope that Mr. Steyer is only the first billionaire to recognize this.

  1. Kudos to Tom Steyer! He is true patriot, much more so than many of our elected officials and is willing to walk his talk. May his quest be successful, quickly.

The entire administration needs to go. We will be stuck for decades with all the right wing ignorant judges the nut jobs are putting in place to rig all future elections with voter suppression. Rethugs cannot win so they cheat to achieve their criminal goals.

Mr. Steyer will hopefully help empty out the stupid squatters at the White House - all of them with their lying ways.

“I’m not that interested in this!”
“I’m not going to even bother with it.”
"“It was at least the sixth agreement — and by far the largest — made by either Mr. O’Reilly or the company to settle harassment allegations against him."The contempt, the rage, the dismissal, the arrogance, the attitude that the issue is beneath the person and that the woman is only bringing it up to try to make her employer look bad — these are not accidents. This is what it looks like when you try to take on the old boys’ club, people with too much power and no sense of accountability.

O’Reilly tried his stint on O’Donnell, but it looked like she knew exactly what he was trying to do. He was doing what predators do – silence any talk of their actions, especially the voices of their victims."

The Tom Steyer ad plays often where I am. It is excellent. He states that Trump is a clear and present danger. I hope more billionaires do something like this. Millionaires and others could also pool together and do ads, public service announcements.

I would like to see the military stand up for the Gold Star Families. The military spends massive amounts of money to get recruiters to sign up young people and risk their family to become Gold Star. Or they could come back from one of the 'secret missions' with horrendous injuries.

Trump is distracting the media and populace with his tweeting and behavior while he coldly stacks judiciary with far right judges . He also uses this distraction to roll back many things Obama did. His bases loves it and if we learnt anything from 2016 , his base is more loyal than the democratic base .

  8. Sorta makes the DNC no different than the RNC when individuals have to step up to do what the Party refuses or is incapable of doing.

I hope this guy is stepping up to help Doug Jones too, since the DNC doesn’t think Jones has a chance and so are not supporting him.

"James Comey confirms he's 'Reinhold Niebuhr' in the strangest possible way

"there's a photo on October 20 of a tall man with black hair in a field of tall corn stalks at sunset. This is by far the best photo of the series.

A day later, a flock of pelicans and a mention of Reinhold Niebuhr's serenity prayer.

You've probably heard part of the serenity prayer, by the way. It begins like this:

God, give us grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed, courage to change the things that should be changed, and the wisdom to distinguish the one from the other."
