Former campaign staffer: “I’d rather go to Iraq than work for Carly Fiorina again.”

Courtesy of Business Insider:

Twelve of about 30 people who worked on Fiorina’s failed 2010 California Senate campaign, most speaking out for the first time, told Reuters they would not work for her again. Fiorina, once one of America's most powerful businesswomen, is now campaigning for the Republican nomination in 2016.

The reason: For more than four years, Fiorina — who has an estimated net worth of up to $120 million — didn’t pay them, a review of Federal Election Commission records shows.

On the campaign trail, the former Hewlett-Packard CEO has portrayed herself as a battle-hardened business leader who possesses the best financial skills among fellow Republican presidential hopefuls. But some former staffers on her Senate campaign are now raising questions about that portrayal.

Federal campaign filings show that, until a few months before Fiorina announced her presidential bid on May 4, she still owed staffers, consultants, strategists, legal experts, and vendors nearly half a million dollars.

FEC records show, for example, that her former campaign manager Martin Wilson was owed $80,500; legal counsel Ben Ginsberg $60,000, and the widow of California political adviser Joe Shumate, who died during the final month of the campaign, at least $30,000.

Yes this is exactly who we want running the country. A person who treats their staffers like indentured servants and does not pay their debts.

Not like she has a snowball's chance in Hades of being the nominee anyhow of course.

However the Republicans need to keep her in the race, because she has a vajayjay. And if they don't have at least one candidate with a vajayjay, and at least one candidate who is not blindingly white, they will get accused of being both sexist and racist.

Which of course they are, but they hate when people point that out.

So if for reasons like this Fiorina drops out of the race, before it even gets started, the Republicans will be forced to pull another potential presidential candidate with similar plumbing out of mothballs.

So somebody should probably start dusting Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin off, because they might soon be on deck.

ahhhhh....for Palin I think that'd be more of a matter of hosing down rather than dusting off....just sayin'

While at Hewlett-Packard she didn't get her nickname of "Chainsaw Carly" for being nice. She has a mean spirit and should never have a chance to lead this country or being in any high position in government.

Is it just me, or is Bristol Palin going to look exactly like Carly Fiorina in about 20 years?

That Carly Fiorina thinks she is a viable candidate after failing at HP and failing to get elected to the senate, shows how delusional she is. But she has a lot of money to burn for the moment.

Sarah Palin, equally delusional, doesn't have Fiorina's deep pockets, but she has a ton of name recognition and an insatiable need for attention. It's a doomed candidacy for obvious reasons, but a short campaign would re-energize her fans and raise some cash. Would love to have her and Donald Trump stealing the attention from the "serious" Republican candidates.

Carly Fiorina is a disgusting waste of skin.

I would think they'd at least "try" for someone with a little class - thus Bachman befre Palin and Nimrata Haley before both of those.

He may get his wish if Fiorina or any other GOP is elected President in 2016. They all think nothing of paying for wars by borrowing from China, and they'll do it again.

O/T but here's some WELCOME news!

Household gun ownership in America is on a steady, long-term decline.

That's according to data from the latest edition of the General Social Survey (GSS), which is conducted by the National Opinion Research Center (NORC) at the University of Chicago.

My organization, the Violence Policy Center, takes a look at this research in our new report, "A Shrinking Minority: The Continuing Decline of Gun Ownership in America."

The GSS has been surveying American households on gun ownership since 1972. As NORC notes, "Except for the U.S. Census, the GSS is the most frequently analyzed source of information in the social sciences." The NORC data shows that American household gun ownership hit its peak in 1977, when more than half of American households (53.7 percent) reported having any guns. By 2014, only 32.4 percent of American households had a gun in the home -- less than a third.

    1. This may be true, but I'm betting that they didn't interview the families who have been in the news for their kids finding/shooting guns kept for family "safety"! These type of people are generally not part of the counts unless it is census, and probably not even then.

    Don't miss this article/interview, Gryphen, it's a keeper!

'Look ... It's My Name on This': Obama Defends the Iran Nuclear Deal

In an interview, the U.S. president ties his legacy to a pact with Tehran, argues ISIS is not winning, warns Saudi Arabia not to pursue a nuclear-weapons program, and anguishes about Israel.

  11. Fiorina looks and sounds so hard and mean! I saw a clip of her the other night and she spoke w/o taking a breathe in a very hard, clipped tone that totally turned me off. I think she tries to sound as if she is "the man" but fails miserably IMHO.

True. It's akin to being stared down by a vulture. Those hard, mean eyes tell the story.

As bad as this is, We know someone who worked under her as she drove Hewlett Packard over the cliff, it got so bad, they were forced to buy Compaq computer for the company to barely eke out a profit. Then HP computers and printers split into two separate devisions because of her leadership. They all have tomes to write about what an evil bitch she was, and how she stepped on people's toes just because she could. Once she left, the company took off, but to this day I refuse to buy their products.

  13. And while she kept all those staffers waiting for their earned compensation, she bought a multimillion dollar estate and paid cash.

Do we really need an elitist scoflaw running this country into the ground?

When asked if she would do anything different about those fired H.P. employees, she said yes, she'd fire them faster.

Personally, I'm glad she's running. She will offer a stark contrast to Hillary Clinton.
