Pat Robertson claims that thanks to the Supreme Court the "onslaught of homosexual behavior" is having "deadly consequences."

Courtesy of Raw Story:

“This onslaught of homosexual behavior that is being forced on us by the Supreme Court of the United States is having deadly consequences,” Robertson announced on the Monday edition of The 700 Club. “I was afraid it was going to happen. It has happened now in Idaho.”

“If I were that couple, I’d get ahead of the curve. I’d get on an airplane and leave Idaho or get in your car and drive across the border into Montana,” the TV preacher recommended. “Get out of that state. And if need be, close your chapel down. I mean, just get out ahead of it because this is outrageous.”

You know I am not sure that Robertson clearly understand just how far progress has spread on this issue. Currently there are 31 states where same sex marriage is legal, and only 19 that are still fighting the inevitable.

That does not leave a whole lot of places that you can drive to from Idaho where these people can get away from "teh gays."

By the way does anybody have a body count as to how many people have been killed thus far by this "deadly" increase in same sex marriage?

In Robertson's tiny little mind, all gays get HIV and all who get HIV die. Gay marriage leads to double the HIV; double the death! Simple.

Not factual, of course, but when have facts ever gotten in the way of Rev. Robertson's screed to the faithful?

Pat.. you poor ignorant fool! You said the same shit about interracial marriage and nothing happened. I find it hilariously funny you biblethumpers make the same claim over and over again.I mean how many times can you cry wolf?

Now, Pat, I want to have a little heart to heart discussion with you. What you are witnessing with same sex marriage is evolution. You know that taboo word all christians place their fingers in their ears when uttered. It's evolution, you dumbass!!! Century by century we will drift farther and farther away from religion as people realize they've been conned like centuries ago with people believing in witchcraft and magical powers.

For once, I agree with Pat Robertson! Close it down. And while you're at it, close down all the christian churches along with it. I'm sick of their christian message of hate and divisiveness.

  5. The only body count is on the gays that have been killed or committed suicide in this country, and around the world, to escape the hell on earth provided by Pat Robertson and his gang of "Christians."

Not sure about "bodies", but my girlfriend and I kill a bottle of tequila anytime we hear of another breakthrough for the LGBTQ community.

GOPer Doubles Down On Gays: 'These Creatures... Are So Destructive'

The Republican challenger to Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) has apparently decided to make the most of the attention he received for describing gays as "Gremlins."

In a video posted to Facebook on Monday, challenger Anthony Culler doubled down on the comment and vowed if elected he would represent and fight for Christians against "the worst Gremlin outbreak we've seen in 30 years."

"What we have is, I made a comment that same-sex couples that want to destroy traditional marriage and our way of life, they're Gremlins," Culler said. "They're these creatures that are so destructive."

Culler posted a lengthy diatribe on the dangers of same-sex couples to his Facebook page on Oct. 14 and received strong backlash this week when it was picked up by national media outlets. Instead of backing down, he took to Facebook to continue disseminating his message.

Culler's latest rant against the "Gremlins" that threaten the Christian way of life lasted for seven minutes.

Pope demotes anti-gay cardinal as Vatican refuses to codify watered-down gay statement

...At the same time, news comes that the Pope himself has demoted a conservative Catholic cardinal working in the Vatican. That cardinal then tattles to Buzzfeed, giving them some awfully nasty quotes about the Pope, including the claim that the Pope is “weakening” the church.

Gryphen, I think you've misinterpreted the good pastor's message here. I'm pretty sure he's announcing his intention to commit suicide as an act of protest against gay marriage.

Usually I'm inclined to oppose suicide as political act, but in this case, I'm officially neutral and urge Pat to do what he feels is the best way to let everyone know he's against the gays.

You have to admit there's a certain unquestionable clarity to the act.

We won't miss you, Pat, but we will remember your avuncular televised fundraising techniques in the name of Jeebus. And not in a good way.

Domestic violence between heterosexual couples is far more likely to get people killed than a homosexual marriage.

1,232 women each year are killed by an intimate partner...always male.

An estimated 5.3 million cases of domestic violence occur among U.S. women 18 and older each year, resulting in nearly 2 million injuries.

The FBI reports 4 women a day are beaten to death by their partners.

The only deadly consequences from gay marriage is the out of control wingers that may attack and kill anyone they perceive as different.

With gay marriage now legal in North Carolina, it was only a matter of time before Flip Benham of Operation Save America started crashing wedding ceremonies for same-sex couples.

The North Carolina-based pastor, who is the father of Religious Right activists David and Jason Benham, reportedly disrupted several weddings at the Mecklenburg County and Courts Office in Charlotte last week.

Sarah Palin v. Bob Cesca: YouTube, Fair Use and Saying Mean Things About Sarah Palin Videos

For the last several months or so, I’ve been following the intellectually-impaired grifter antics over at The Sarah Palin Channel — Palin’s recently launched subscription service, which also happens to feature free-to-the-public videos posted on the main page. In the process of covering the Sarah Palin beat, it’s been necessary to excerpt sections of her videos and to subsequently embed the “takeouts” (Antonin Scalia’s word) on The Daily Banter in the context of reviewing her illiterate blather.

One of the clips in particular went viral. You might recall the video in which Palin lapsed into some sort of aphasia or stupor and began to babble about Elizabeth Warren, fast food and Purgatory. To date, no one’s been able to adequately decipher what she was saying. Accordingly, my excerpted clip and the accompanying article spread throughout the blogosphere and, as of late September, was pushing toward 700,000 views.

However, the view count was halted and the video was disabled when Sarah Palin’s production company stumbled upon it. On September 21, I logged into my YouTube account to find the following notice:

    (notice)

...No, she doesn’t understand the First Amendment, which doesn’t protect Limbaugh and Dr. Laura from their corporate bosses, angry listeners or popular boycotts — it protects them from federal laws restricting free speech and press. An example of a federal law that would infringe upon free speech and press would be a copyright law that forbids journalists from excerpting and criticizing Sarah Palin’s videos. We don’t know whether she supports such a law, but her production partners clearly believe the law forbids it.

Fortunately, though, YouTube supports fair use and as of yesterday the video clips were restored and my account remains fully functional.
