Seems like a worthy cause. Update: Thompson's wife weighs in.

Courtesy of Go Fund Me:

Eric Thompson was at a party for about 70 friends on September 6th, 2014. At some point during the evening a massive, "Jerry Springer" type fight broke out involving the Palin family.

ABC's Good Morning America contacted Eric, most likely because he had given his name to the police for the report. GMA asked if he would give an interview, and did so, not asking for money in return.

Eric did not make a dime from giving his testimony of the Palin brawl to GMA.

About an hour after the GMA interview, Eric Thompson received a call from his boss saying that he was being immediately fired.

Eric really wants a job more than anything, but seeing as this was such a sudden release of employment it has left him in a bit of a bind for the month. Also, lawyer fees are now stacking up thanks to this whole debacle.

I just donated $100.00 to the cause.

At the time of this post the amount stands at $570.00 which is not going to get him very far.

I think that by the end of the day we can get that up to several thousand.

Just think of it this way, helping him is sending a message to every other person out there that if the Palins come after you there are those who will have your back.

And really, who better than us?

Update: Eric Thompson's wife has also giving HER eyewitness report.

It essentially matches her husband's, though she did add this:

She also expressed her frustration about the police investigation and that no charges have been filed. She said she, her husband and a number of other party guests spoke to investigators that night.

"I just think when people assault other people that they should be arrested," she said. "Or at least charged. Especially when there's that many eyewitnesses. I don't think just because you're a Palin that you should not have to suffer the same consequences as any other person."

I could not agree more.

Isn't the firing of Mr. Thompson considered Witness Intimidation?

Shouldn't the police investigate this? Does someone have to be charged with a crime in order for it to be Witness Intimidation? Is that why no charges are being filed?

Anybody know the answer? Seems like the Alaska Attorney General should be notified, if he is not already in Sarah Palin's back pocket. In that case, Eric Holder.

Glad to see this! I just threw him a C note.

I hope he gets masses of money from this debacle. It will just show Sarah the mobster that there are powers outside of her realm that can influence things that she fucks with. How can we make this Fundme page go viral? If anyone tweets or facebooks, let's kick it into high gear. Let's show this guy that we've got his back and he can count on us to help him through this tough spot he's gotten in, completely without him doing anything more than telling his truthful side of an event that he witnessed.

Plus, I suspect his is being blacklisted all over the area he lives in so that he can't get employment. The Palin's will pull in every favor they can to keep this quiet.

OK loyal IM readers, here is our chance to hit $arah where it really hurts - her massive EGO will not be able to stand the fact that her "rat" is getting more in donations from strangers than $HE is. Just $5-10 can make a big difference to this brave man, and it won't take too many of us to show Alaskans that enough people care and have their backs. Maybe it will finally loosen those tight Alaskan lips once and for all!

"WALLACE is likely to be the breakout star of this season. For one, a lot of attention is always paid to the View host who has the opposing view, which, as is customary on this show, is the Republican one. But there’s a warmth and easiness in the way that WALLACE tells her stories and states her opinions that makes her instantly appealing. She has the same self-awareness that makes O’Donnell so relatable, which will no doubt continue to be refreshing when she talks about her political party’s more ridiculous clowns—people that the likes of Hasselbeck and McCarthy almost always had blanket, hard-to-watch defenses of. An “Ask Me Anything” segment that had her divulging the stories behind some of the most controversial moments of her time with the Bush White House was easily the most entertaining of the premiere."

They deleted it because you posted it here too? Are you fucking joking? GOD, p&k are insufferable bitches. Audrey kicked them to the curb, then Regina did the same after being harassed by them to give them ALL the fundraised money. Regina even posted that they wouldn't wait for her to send a "cheque"-- they had her go to a western union in the middle of the night and send the donated PayPal funds, after having told her she would be responsible for them not being able to eat or have electricity if she didn't. P is a lawyer, Regina is a senior citizen on a fixed income. Sounds real fair.

All that combined with their incorrigible "we knew it before anyone else!" malarkey, and I seriously cannot even go there anymore.

G, I know you might not want to post this but before you reject it, be aware that all of what I said is still posted publicly on palingates, by Regina.

Would be helpful if Eric Thompson gave a little more detail into who called him and fired him. Was it one of the McKenna's or their personnel Office? Did they give him a reason why he was let go?

Those details mean a lot to people who are going to want to help him out. There is so little information. It would relieve some to absolutely know he wasn't let go for other reasons. He should at least give donors a reason to why he was fired, and what were the exact reasons given by the company to him.

I was 'let go' once in a (very) small corporate overhaul - a couple of managers above me had already been replaced. Only time I ever applied to collect Unemployment and guessy what? The owner lied!

Said I was fired for not following directions and that I had been warned many times. I was starting to freak out a little and the nice lady calmed me down and asked my side of the story and I said it was all lies, that I had started doing things 'their way' when I was told to and that I was never warned that my performance was in need of more improvement or I would be fired.

Come to find out, to fire someone for cause (to avoid paying UB, in CA) has to be documented, and of course they had no documents. I am assuming same is true in AK?

My near apoplexy when I was told what the former owners said about me was less out of concern about getting the unemployment money, and more the shock that they would actually lie about me to save themselves a little coin.

It would be a huge, gynormous mistake for the McKennas to try anything like that. Relationships are strained and bad enough now. They won't come out smelling better if they take a second dip into Douchebag Pond.

The only freedom in which Palins believe is the expectation of their own freedom to bully and harass and be free from personal and legal responsibility.

Sarah Palin begins most of her speeches with the cry, 'Do you love your freedom?' But under her breath, she's snickering the caveat, 'Then don't dare ever criticize or try to hold me and mine accountable.'

  64. Anonymous1:44 PM

Hey, Sarah, what happened to that Freedom of Speech that you are always going on about? I guess some speech just ain't free. You have to pay for it, with your job. Eric Thompson was not insulting his bosses or his work place. He was talking about your family, starting a big brawl. That makes it look as if you leaned on your good friends, the McKenna Brothers to fire him. One of these days, you are going to push someone too far, and they won't just be taking photos of you without your makeup. They will spill all of the beans. There is probably big money in that.

Hey Gryphen, I'm so happy you shared this! I may donate just as a reward for the creativity of that little video!

Eric, you were a gentleman to myself and my guest at the party and you kept a cool head after the brawl when many others were flipping out. I think your admirable qualities are evident and I think you will be recruited for a great job in no time at all. And I hope this fundraiser goes through the roof, friend.

Take note, younger folks who were at the party: this is how you prove your patriotism. Not by selling to the highest bidder.......but by making sure the truth is brought to light without thought of personal profit.

I only hope to have the balls Eric does in regard to my own thoughts of "going public". I have explained my fears, you all know the trail of mysterious car accidents, fires, and plane crashes which seem to befall so many who anger the Palins. But Eric is inspiring and if the world wants another old goat's party observations, maybe I can find the same testicular fortitude he did and say screw you, drunken, violent, idiots......I'm TALKING.

When I made my small donation, i commented to Eric Thompson that he reminded me of my father who would always, without fail stand up, look someone right in the eye and tell everything just the way it happened. He was truly a man of his word. Eric Thompson has courage. The McKenna twins should be so ashamed of themselves. When they run an ad to fill Eric Thompson's job, what are they going to say, "Those who are honest and have courage need not apply."

TBAT, I understand your personal concerns but I just hope that you decide to contact Gryphen to let him help you post your story anonymously. Just because what you say will be anonymous, doesn't mean you won't be believed. It's the old "something or other has the ring of truth". You appear to be a credible eye witness even though you are anonymous. IMO, the best time to get a story out is while there's a flurry of others talking. Besides, when will another chance like this come along? Thank you for what you've done so far.

be careful about giving "hints" about your identity in your postings, you have already mentioned that you are older and are supporting a disabled nephew.

Also document what you know "In the event that something happens to me type of letter" and put another copy in a safe place-bank safe deposit, secret hiding place. Don't want to scare you, just stay safe, the palins aren't worth dying for.

It's just slaying me, the info that C4Pers are already calling the Thompsons liars.

Don't they know there's a police report with the statements of the Thompsons and many others taken that night? And that those statements are likely to all corroborate each other to the extent that they must be 'the truth' (the truth of what the witnesses saw, not necessarily the truth of what objectively happened, but in this case that distinction is not very important).

Lying is when you tell someone something you know is not true. All these people did was tell what they saw. They told their truth.

Speaking of the police report, my understanding is that the Palins left before the police arrived. Which means the police did not take any statements from the Palins that night? Y/N?

If the police are doing an investigation, wouldn't they get statements from the Palins ASAP? Does anyone know if the Pallns ever gave the police their official version and when?

If the PalinVersion 2.0 is the Odd-Man-Out from the other party-goers' statements, we'll know it's a load of Mooseskat.

There are reports from various witnesses that the police told the Palins to go home several times before they left, so I think they were still there when the cops arrived. If they didn't give a statement that night, I would think that they would have had to go in to give one within a few days of the incident.
