GOP choice for Oregon Senate seat is no show at candidate forum. Guess who she's getting compared to.

Courtesy of Raw Story:

Trailing badly in the polls, the Oregon GOP nominee seeking to unseat Democratic Senator Jeff Merkley failed to show up for a candidate forum scheduled Saturday at her request.

According to Willamette Week, embattled candidate Monica Wehby requested the interview with other nominees be scheduled for Saturday which the paper and other candidates agreed to. However when the time came for the taped interviews to begin, Wehby was a no-show.

The paper explained that they scheduled the interview “back in July for a day and at a time Wehby’s campaign assured us she would be available. We even rescheduled the interview to suit her, as we did during the primary election campaign.”

Editor Mark Zusman, who has overseen the paper’s endorsements for 30 years, says he can’t remember a statewide candidate ever failing to appear.

Speaking with Oregon Live, Wehby campaign spokesman Dean Petrone stated that the candidate never agreed to attend, stating that Wehby had “had a full schedule” of campaign events Saturday. Petrone refused to say what the candidate did on Saturday, and denied she was trying to avoid her opponent.

“It’s a ridiculous assertion,” Petrone said. “Monica is looking for any chance she could get to discuss the issues with Sen. Merkley.”

On Friday, Wehby let the deadline pass and failed to confirm her participation in a debate hosted by KGW TV that her opponent agreed to in mid-August.

This of course has inspired some critics to make the obvious comparison.

However I think this might be a little unfair.

I mean at least Sarah Palin actually got herself elected before she up and quit.

  1. She didn't stand a chance here in Oregon.
Besides you can always spot the candidate holding a full Koch...they're the ones that have nothing to say.

Oh, she's a real piece of work. Supported by Romney, funding from Kochs, a doctor whose first item on her agenda would be repeal of the ACA, and a stalker.

Oh wow. Like they haven't done that already. What an original concept. Pretty soon, Mrs. Palin is going to need to get a restraining order against the show. She's not going to say nothing because that show and the people on it ARE nothing. All has been.

      Hey Griffy,
What's it been now? 25 days since the night in question? Where's the police report? No photos? No video? Say it ain't so!

It was a joy to watch. Wallace tried to put a positive spin on Sarah's Christmas card response but it went over like a lead balloon.

Hope they keep highlighting Palin's stupidity.

Sarah Palin wanted to audition to be on the view. No audition necessary. She will be on The View every time she opens her mouth. Congratulations, Sarah, that's the price of celebrity.

You must have such a sad, miserable life when you take personal responsibility to defend your Quitter Queen from every comment made about her that someone who knows her makes about Sarah's anti-social behavior.

"Pretty soon, Mrs. Palin is going to need to get a restraining order against the show."

Your fantasy about someone getting a restraining order because someone is discussion that person's stupidity is as delusional as you are. You don't know the law and your own stupidity is as prolific as your grifting idol.

"She's not going to say nothing because that show and the people on it ARE nothing."

Your lack of education is evident in your pitiful grammar.

You sound like it hurts you personally to have others speak about Stupid Sarah. Get over it. At least Sarah isn't as stupid as you.

I haven't heard of the "book about Couric and Sawyer..." but from your comment, I'm thinking it's an attempt to trash Katie Couric.

Did or does Katie have a husband who has been identified as a pimp?
Did or does Katie have a daughter who dry humps on shows like DWTS or have a baby or babies out of wedlock?
Was Katie ever guilty of telling a vile radio "doctor" to "reload, don't retreat" when the doctor had said the n-word eleven times on air?
Did Katie ever publish a map with crosshairs on it?
And then, when a psycho fulfilled her request to fire on the politicians marked on the map, did Katie issue a Blood Libel message saying that she (Katie) was the "rill" victim? When people had died??
Does Katie Couric dress like hooker?
Does she and her family get drugged/drunk, start a brawl at a birthday party and be heard to yell profanities encouraging her drunk/drugged kids to "hit him again"?

Katie Couric has my undying respect for asking simple questions like "what newspapers do you read?" then asking "can you name one?" Questions which exposed to the world just how stupid and ignorant Sarah Palin was. I love Katie Couric. And Tina Fey.

If you're a troll, I suggest you concentrate on your SP supporters marooned in the stagnant waters of the PeePond also, too, the 7 new supporters you found at the Value Voters summit. (2 of Sarah's votes had to be her own and Jason Rechter's votes so that leaves 7 new supporters).

Monica is following a political tradition. After being selected by the Koch Brothers to run in an election, she found herself unable to answer questions so she ran away-- just like Sharon Angle and Christine O'Donnell. For a long time, the Conservatives have been picking not-too-smart people to run for office so that they are easy to manipulate when it's time to vote for an issue that affects the K-Brothers.

Low bar there, Gryph, really low bar. Few people even knew of Palin before she ran for governor at a time when the incumbent was widely hated on.

^^Totally agree. People Outside have no idea what a small pond Alaska is.

Only in Alaska does the mayor of a town of 5,000 and who quit her only statewide post get elected governor.

I read a statement from Wehby's campaign last week or so regarding her not commenting about the plagiarism that has been committed during her run. It went something like: "Dr Wehby is too busy performing brain surgery on children to comment on such matters". Monica is pretty much an asshat.

  12. The Wehby political ads against Merkley have been so incredibly predictable and stupid. In one (paid for by some version of the Chamber of Commerce, if memory serves), the first couple of seconds has a photo of Merkley with longish hair from what must be his college days. Not LONG hair, mind you, just somewhat down his neck like most college aged guys. I just laughed out loud. Oooooh.....he was OBVIOUSLY a radical hippy communist!! How pathetic is that?

Her other ads accuse him of never passing even ONE bill, conveniently leaving out the fact that no Democrat has passed a bill since the Republicans took over the House because they have blocked every attempt at any legislation put forth by Democrats. Just the usual lies and misleading nonsense from the Kock-funded groups supporting her.

A male gay couple (married) did come out in support of her and appeared in an ad for her, for some bizarre reason, but I think it will take more than her supporting gay marriage to make up for her support of all the noxious, disgusting tea party/Kock brothers stuff she supports. I hope she goes down in flames.
