How laws are passed in 2012. School House Rock gets a somewhat frightening update.

You only thought you knew how a bill becomes a law. In this Fiore creation, “ALEC” ( representing the American Legislative Exchange Council) explains the ways corporations and politicians collude to create self-serving, self-enriching legislation — steamrolling democracy in the process.

So much for democracy.

  1. Cut it out, Gryphen, nobody like a smart alec!

    (sorry, couldn't resist.)

While the Wingers entertain and distract us with the likes of The Screechy Wretch(tm) Traveling Circus and The Herb Cain Kings of Comedy, the real work dismantling what's left of America is taking place in state legislatures and local school districts. And ALEC is playing a huge role in that. Somewhat frightening, indeed.

There is perception and there is reality.

    Here's some reality:

    Chick-Fil-A is still standing.
The big bad banks are still standing.
    Rush Limbaugh is still standing.
    Sarah Palin is still standing.
    Fox News is still standing.

Get ready to suck eggs on Tuesday when Ted Cruz wins in Texas.

And then there is delusion, which you and yours seem to be well acquainted with.

Clear Channel, Limbarf's home, is losing money by the bucket full. Bain will not be keeping that company on its books much longer, it has to shell out too much from its profit side to keep it alive. Limbarf and his ilk are fading fast, their audience is aging and dying as well.

We own all palins. Especially Sarah and Bristol.
They're still standing because we want them to be. We pull their strings and they dance. Good puppets. We'll tell you when we're done with you. Run along now.

      Here's some reality:

      >>Chick-Fil-A is still standing.

The reality is that the boycott is working. A new YouGov Brand Index Survey has found that the consumer perception of Chick-fil-A has taken a nosedive in all regions of the country. Chick-fil-A’s brand score has gone from 65, which was 19 points above average on a scale of 100, to 39 last Wednesday. Their brand has plunged from a score of 80 before Cathy’s comments to 44. The brand has dropped most in the Northeast, where it has gone from a 76 to a 35.

To Anonymous 4:47 and Snotty troll:

Guess what trolls, it's only been less than 2 weeks and they're approval ratings have dropped dramatically. (And don't even bother trying to tell us about the difference between sales and approval ratings. NO company is going to advertise the drops CFA is going to see! We'll watch the discussions held by economists who know what the hell they are talking about and tell it like it is without bias or who aren't bought and paid for, like those on Faux News!)

Chicken Shit? Yep! You'll be buried in it!

Time, suckers. Time. It's NOT on your side!
