I think the makers of SchoolHouse Rock need to sue the crap out of Mike Huckabee.

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Other important things you can learn from this animated series:

Ronald Reagan could have solved the AIDS crisis simply by just withholding access to medical treatment from the gays until they had all died out.

Ronald Reagan was capable of walking on water, but he did not want to be a show off.

Ronald Reagan only pretended to be a bad actor in order to fool Mikhail Gorbachev into underestimating him. Then he crushed Communism., ALL BY HIMSELF!

Ronald Reagan pooped gold.

You know I have not read my Bible for awhile now, but isn't there something in there about not worshipping false idols?

For such a sycophantic story, they sure did make Reagan look like he'd just had wisdom teeth removed. I think most of the budget went into Huck's campaign warchest, 'cause they sure didn't spend it on writing or animation.

We heard about this last night and have been livid ever since!

We lived through the Reagan years and what a load of misery they were for the average working American.
He even screwed his home town.

Most families could get by on one income before Reagan. Not during and certainly not after.

His reign of misery against the working class began what has been a consistent theme in the GOP. Anyone with half a brain who didn't live through the eighties as an adult can simply do basic research or ask people who did - not the wealthy, of course. The wealthy did just fine - as they are doing now.

His administration may have had a few positive highlights but none of them can undo the drastic damage he did to our economy.

I vividly remember how, every single frigging time his poll numbers went down, poor Ronnie had to go to the hospital for sometime or some other "crisis" developed. It was similar to how every time George W. Bush had a dip in ratings, there was a terror alert.

    Talk about cheap showmanship!

To have sleazy Huckabee gaming this, performing a shill game is just too much! Oh, well, birds of a feather - for a "pastor," he has no sense of morals or conscience.

It outrages us to think that kids might be subject to and affected by this propoganda! What a load of immoral crap.

I'm a writer but words fail me here. I've been watching the Right, particularly the Religious Right, rewrite history for quite a while. But this, this is beyond obscene. The Right is absolutely shameless and without morals with regard to getting what they want. Liars. Deceivers.

And intentionally deceiving children... I guess they've forgotten about Luke17:2 --
"It would be more profitable for him if a millstone were hanged about his neck and he cast into the sea, than that he should be a snare to one of these little ones."

I witnessed the transformation of Reagan from B movie actor to GOP tool. As a 16 yr old kid, I worked at my Dad's film soundstage. My Dad took on the job of getting Reagan camera ready for performing on camera for the debates for the Calif. gubernatorial elections. To my Dad it was just a job. I was only 16 but I remember saying to myself, "God help us if this idiot ever becomes President."

This will probably be required watching in the new and 'improved' church charter schools the GOP intends to impose when they ruin the public school system. Huckleberry will probably write a series of required textbooks next. Who needs to be President when you can infiltrate young minds and convince them that all their parents believed about this great country was just a liberal lie: the way to prosperity is to become a shill and sell your lies to the highest bidder.

It's sad that not only has most of our news gone 'opinion', but soon our history will be based on it. No wonder people yell "conspiracy!" when ever they hear something they don't agree with. Who needs facts?

  7. I just read something else wonderful that Ronald Reagan did:

He released his medical records, allowed his doctor to be interviewed, and agreed to be interviewed himself.

Among the "leading historians and educators" credited on "Learn Our History," Professor Frank Schweikert is probably the most widely known, especially to viewers of Fox News where he appears periodically to promote his polemics -- I mean, "books."

From a review of his "A Patriot's History of the United States" :

"What are readers to make of a book that devotes a single paragraph to the Japanese internment while squandering an entire page with denunciations of liberal historians and their treatments of the subject? How seriously should anyone take a textbook that devotes seven pages each to the Spanish-American War and the Clinton impeachment while covering the Iran-Contra scandal in six sentences?"

Another of his books, "48 Liberal Lies About American History: (That You Probably Learned in School)," is even more stunningly partisan.

Some of the "liberal lies" he attempts to demolish (few of which were ever actually taught in any schools):

Lie #18: "Senator Joseph McCarthy Concocted the 'Red Scare' and There Was Nothing to Fear from Communist Subversives."

Lie #21: "Lee Harvey Oswald Shot JFK Because He Was a Deranged Marine Not Because He Was a Communist."

    Lie #37: "Global Warming is a Fact, and It's a Man-made American-Driven Problem."

Lie #45: "LBJ's Great Society had a Positive Aspect on the Poor."

A few reviews from various sources (ranging from professional book reviewers to Amazon.com) :

"While his arguments lack a basic foundation in historical scholarship, they go beyond mere ignorance and border on the preposterous."

"As a history teacher I can tell you that this book is garbage. I have no political agenda when I teach, and I can tell you that this book obviously does and is full of misinterpretations."

"Some of the "facts" the reader will learn are: McCarthy was really an honest anti-Communist stalwart who was basically on the mark (a 'historian' actually uses right-wing polemicist Ann Coulter as a source!), global warming is a fiction, Bush won in 2000 fair and square, etc ..."

So ... THAT'S the kind of "historian" Huckabee has chosen to set the record straight and cleanse America's classrooms of dangerous "liberal bias."

    Thanks a bunch, Mike!

Hope you make all the money you deserve for marketing what can only be described as a cartoon of history.

When did Ronald become "The Chosen One"? He divorced his first wife to marry "Red Nancy", even Ron jr and his sister saw and spoke out against his policies. Of course, after he got sick and lost his memory, "Playboy Patty" kissed and made up (cha-ching!) The man couldn't act his way out of a paper bag, he obliterated the middle class (Read Anonymous @ 10), and the present Republican agenda, union busting, obliterate the education system and defund women's health etc..... had it's seeds planted firmly in the Bush years with "Faith based initiatives" (which led to the conservative swing and Palin's rise to power, something Huck and his history re-do will probably gloss over.

The stupids will flock to this website and buy this bullcrap and believe it's true because it's shiny and written with small words they don't have to look up.
